Dear Friends and Supporters,
In these times of Covid-19 restrictions and climate-conscious awareness, we understand that people are travelling much less than they might have in years gone by. For some of us this is a decision fuelled by our concern for unnecessary air travel, and for some of us it’s wanting to reduce the risk of coronavirus that comes with travel.
The past two years have meant that our communications with partners in India have had to be virtual. This year, after a great deal of careful thought, Action Village India’s Director, Esther, is going to make a journey to India to finally catch up with partners old and new! This is a trip that has been planned with consideration to safety, the best use of time, making the most of connections between our work in the UK and our partners’ work in India. We are also working hard to balance the travel with consideration for the climate, so Esther is making several internal journeys by train.
For those of us in the UK (and beyond), Action Village India would like to share Esther’s visit to India and her meetings with those involved in work at grassroots level. We will be doing this via a series of blog posts, videos and photo essays that will be shared on our website, newsletters and social media streams.
We look forward to creating a greater sense of connection between our supporters in the UK and partners in India and hope you enjoy your ‘armchair trip’ to India with Action Village India.
