AVI are lucky to have amazing fundraisers who give their time and energy in events like runs and walks. Yesterday Krishna Patel (also the nephew of AVI’s Comms Manager, Aneeta) completed months of hard training and fundraising when he ran the London Marathon.

This was not only a commitment in terms of raising money, but also in hours of dedicated training as he built up his runs from 5km to the 42km of a marathon. That’s 26.2 miles in old money but however you look at it it’s pretty impressive. Aneeta caught up with him at Canada Water and he had an enormous hug and grin for his aunt…not even a sweat on as he coolly posed for a photo! Then again at Rotherhithe he zoomed past with a smile. Still smiling for his friends at the end he’s got lots to be proud of and AVI are very grateful for all his hard work. So far he’s raised just over £2000 for Action Village India.

All the money raised will to the AVI Spring Appeal for Land Rights and Livelihood for Fisher Folk in Orissa.
