These pieces are produced using our partner Ekta Parishad‘s Gandhian-based ‘Gram Swaraj’ or ‘village economy programme’ fabric, which ensures our weavers and producers a fair wage for their products. Ekta Parishad – translated as Unity Movement – is a people’s movement consisting of 11,000 community-based organisations, which is dedicated to building community-based governance, local self-reliance and responsible governmental action.
Ekta Parishad’s aim is to see India’s poorest people – including tribals, dalits and nomadic communities, re-gain control over their livelihood resources, especially land, water and forest.
